1. Who we are
Surat Lace Association operates a community platform for members in the lace and textile industry in Surat, Gujarat, India. Our mobile app helps verified members connect, view announcements, register for events and meetings, manage memberships, and access association resources.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
- Account and profile data: name, mobile number, email, address, city, state, country, profile photo, introduction, and business keywords.
- Business information: business names, GST numbers, business types, team size, websites, addresses, and location coordinates you choose to share.
- Personal details: date of birth, marriage anniversary, and emergency contact information (when provided).
- Social links: links you add for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, or WhatsApp.
- Authentication data: one-time passwords (OTP) sent to your mobile number and session tokens used to keep you signed in.
- Device information: device type, device identifier, and push notification tokens (FCM) for alerts you enable.
- Membership and payments: membership plan selections, payment amounts, dates, and transaction references processed through the ICICI Bank Payment Gateway for paid memberships, events, or meetings.
- Community activity: follow requests, meeting attendance, event registrations, caution-party reports, and content you submit through the app.
3. How we use your information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage your member account and verify your identity via OTP.
- Display your profile to other approved members when you choose to share it.
- Process memberships, event registrations, and meeting passes.
- Send service notifications, announcements, and administrative messages.
- Maintain association records, fraud prevention lists, and member directory features.
- Improve security, troubleshoot issues, and comply with applicable law.
4. Legal basis and consent
We process your data based on your consent when you register, your contractual need to use association services as a member, and our legitimate interests in operating a safe community platform. You may withdraw consent for optional features (such as push notifications) through your device settings.
5. Payment information
Paid memberships, event fees, and meeting fees are processed securely through the ICICI Bank Payment Gateway. When you make a payment, your card, net banking, UPI, or wallet details are entered on ICICI Bank’s secure hosted payment page and are handled directly by ICICI Bank and its authorised partners. We do not store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net banking credentials on our servers. We retain only limited transaction details such as the amount, date, status, and a transaction reference number needed to reconcile your payment and provide support.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data:
- With other approved members, according to your profile visibility and association features (for example, member directory or follow connections).
- With service providers that help us operate the platform (hosting, SMS/OTP, email, payment processing via the ICICI Bank Payment Gateway, and push notification delivery).
- When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of members.
7. Data retention
We retain your information while your account is active and as needed for membership records, payments, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. When you request account deletion, we will process your request within a reasonable period and delete or anonymize personal data unless we must retain certain records for legal, tax, or regulatory reasons.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including secure connections and access controls on our servers. Payments are processed over encrypted, PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure operated by ICICI Bank. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; please use a strong device lock and keep your OTP and payment credentials private.
9. Your rights
You may:
- Access and update much of your profile information in the app.
- Request correction of inaccurate data by contacting us.
- Request deletion of your account by contacting us at the address below.
- Opt out of push notifications in your device settings.
10. Children
The member app is intended for business community members and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Third-party links
Your profile or announcements may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
